Mrs. Gahafer's First Grade Supply List

This list includes ALL of the supplies that your child will need and use throughout the entire year.  ALL ITEMS need to be labeled and placed into a 2-GALLON SIZE ZIPLOCK BRAND storage bag.  Please do this at home, prior to coming to orientation, so that items do not get mixed up.  I realize that this list seems extremely lengthy; however, I feel that it is easier to go ahead and purchase supplies for the entire school year rather than going back out mid-year to purchase additional supplies.  All items will be stored in our room for your child’s future use.

 

  • 1 backpack (NO ROLLERS PLEASE)

(The backpacks on wheels DO NOT fit in our cubbies)

  • Scissors – child sized (I highly recommend Fiskars brand)
  • 6-8 glue sticks
  • 2 boxes of 24 count crayons (NOT jumbo size)

  • 2 boxes of washable markers (Classic Colors-red, blue, yellow, etc)

(the fabric “boxes” with zippers are awesome J as they cut down on the accidental “slamming noises” as 23 kiddos’ are moving their boxes J… the plastic boxes as just fine, though!)

Mrs. Gehlbach's Second Grade Supply List

24 #2 pencils to be used during the year (bring 3 or 4 at a time)

Colored pencils (for map work)

Package of red grading pens (bring 1 or 2 at a time)

2 dry erase markers, and an a eraser (A clean sock can be used for an eraser; it also hold the markers nicely.) I provide the marker boards.

1 ruler with both inches and centimeters

1 school box-size 5" X 8" X 2 1/2" (may also want zipper case or sip lock bag to hold pencils)

3 packages of lined (on one side) 3X5 index cards (for the room) for the making of flash cards

– These need to be brought on orientation night or the first day of school

  • 500 sheets of notebook paper (wide ruled)
  • 1 container of cleaning wipes (Clorox, Lysol, etc.)

Supplies for your child to keep up with throughout the year:

- Your child needs to have these in constant supply throughout the school year

Please have all of these items labeled with a permanent marker on the first day of school.  If you prefer, you may bring them to school during orientation.  There are multiples of some items because we will reserve some of the supplies to save for after Winter Break for the second half of the school year. Supplies will be divided on the first day of school.

Mrs. Bohon, our Science lab teacher, requests that students also have the following:

·         1 package of notebook paper

·         1 package of dividers with tabs

·         One three ring, one inch binder with a clear plastic cover.  A cover sheet will be designed to slide in the front cover.

 

Mrs. Bohon's Science Lab Supply List-Grades 1-5

3rd, 4th, and 5th graders should bring 

  • a one and a half or a two inch size three-ring binder with a clear cover to insert a cover page.  
  • a package of notebook paper for the binder.  
  • a small package of plain #2 pencils - we do a lot of writing in science with learning targets, observations and data collection from experiments.   *(Note: I will provide cover pages, a table of contents, and dividers for organizing  the student notebooks on the first day of science class.)
 
1st and 2nd graders should bring:
  •  a spiral bound notebook - 70 or 100 pages is a good size.  *(Note: Students do not need to write their names on notebooks, as we will sort the notebooks by color so that each classroom has the same color science notebooksThis helps the students and the teacher when getting ready to come to the lab.)  
  •  a small package of #2 pencils - we write in our notebooks EVERY  science class.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students should bring notebooks and their package of pencils to their first science class so we can begin working and be organized for the year.
